Over the past few weeks, we have been focusing on reading and viewing, and writing to inform (chapters seven and ten).
In an essay of five to seven pages, I would like you to pick a text based in literature and inform the reader about that text (historical background, author, and/or significance).
Then pick a form of visual media (music, art, political cartoon/situation) that is connected or related to your first piece of writing, and inform the reader of its significance ((historical background, author, and/or timelessness).
The final part of your essay will be to then compare and inform your audience of both works importance; be it to society and/or a larger cultural significance (why it is important today).
Since this paper is research based, you should incorporate at least three outside sources in your explanation, and document these sources using MLA style.
Your audience is made up of members of the USI community, including students, faculty and administers. So when informing this audience, think about the visuals and how those visuals inform the text and reader about what is going on in the piece.
YOUR ESSAY WILL NOT BE IN FIRST PERSON!

• One-inch margins, 12-point Times New Roman font, proper college heading
• Reference to at least three to five outside academic sources (in text citations required)
