Examine the bar diagram and answer the following questions:
• What is the X-axis measuring? What is the Y-axis measuring?
• What is the unit of “size of academy”? What level of measurement is this?
• How much is the average expenditure per recruit for training academies with 25–49 instructors?
• What size academy spends the most money per recruit?
• Does the data reveal any interesting or surprising trends?
Part III
Examine the pie chart, which shows the number of state and local law enforcement training academies for each size category, where the number of full-time equivalent instructors at the academy measures size. Interpret this data, that is, extract meaning from these numbers, and write it in your own words. Do not merely repeat the information in the chart in sentences; comment on the information you glean from this chart.
