1. A researcher questioned six students regarding their attitudes toward the legalization of prostitution (X) and their attitudes toward the legalization of marijuana (Y). Students answered on a “1–7” scale with “1” being “least favorable attitude” and “7” being “most favorable attitude.” The data are below:
a. What are the null and research hypotheses?
b. Create a scatter plot of the two variables.
c. Calculate the correlation coefficient. (Do not worry about significance, as Excel does not easily calculate it.)
