Socrates devotes a lot of attention to the education of the guardians in his ideal city. The guardians must be willing to protect the city and out the good of the city ahead of their individual good. Analogously, there must be a part of the individual person that looks out for and protects the good of the whole person. Focus on one aspect of the guardian education and explain how it relates to the development of a well-ordered city, or a well-ordered person. in other words, what does the education of the guardians have to do with the origin of justice for both city and a person? Has Socrates presented a convincing argument that this is how the guardians should be educated? why not why not?
